About the Mulinazzi Law Office Attorneys
When you are navigating the legal system, it is important to work with an attorney who will carefully explain your legal situation. At the Mulinazzi Law Office, we are committed to understanding your concerns and to helping you understand your options, your rights, your risks, estimated costs and the probable outcomes.
Thomas E. Mulinazzi, Esq.
Mr. Mulinazzi focuses his practice on family and domestic law. He is an experienced Collaborative Law practitioner, holds advanced training in best collaborative law practices, and he is active in local Collaborative Law attorney groups. He represents clients in the collaborative process and other negotiations, and when the parties cannot agree he is a strong but reasonable advocate for his clients.
He recognizes that a divorce or custody dispute is a tragic and emotionally difficult experience and he strives to help his clients make the best and long lasting decisions for themselves and their families. He strives to assist clients to mitigate the emotional and financial cost of separation and divorce and often works closely with other professionals (counselors, financial planners, clergy, child specialists, etc.) to maximize the benefit and minimize the impact on clients.
Experience: Mr. Mulinazzi has successfully litigated and negotiated cases before the Circuit and District Courts in all jurisdictions in Central Maryland. He has successfully handled complex property and business valuation cases and prosecuted and defended complicated alimony claims. He has taught a seminar on custody law for the Pro Bono Resource Center, presented at the University of Maryland School of Law as a guest lecturer on representing children in custody/divorce cases, and serves as a settlement facilitator for the Circuit Court of Baltimore City. The Courts in Howard County and Baltimore City have recognized Mr. Mulinazzi’s expertise by appointing him to represent children in custody and adoption matters.
Before forming the Mulinazzi Law Office, Mr. Mulinazzi worked as an associate for a general practice firm in Beltsville, MD where he was the Senior Associate, overseeing the family law docket for the firm. He also worked at Weinberg, & Schwartz in Columbia, MD where he worked exclusively on family law cases. Prior to private practice, Mr. Mulinazzi worked for the Family Division of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City for 2 1/2 years as a judicial law clerk to two highly respected jurists. This experience gave him invaluable insight into how Judges consider the facts and make their rulings in family law cases.
I understand that clients in divorce/separation or custody disputes are confronted with the most difficult emotional and financial challenges they have ever faced. Their emotions may drive their decisions and it is impossible to understand and accept how the situation will resolve. When they hire me as their lawyer they are placing tremendous faith and trust in me to help them. I am proud that clients give me this responsibility and trust; I take that trust very seriously and I commit to providing them with honest answers, hard work, and strong advocacy. I know that it is my duty to listen, to empathize, and to counsel clients. It is also my job to help them understand the things that cannot be changed and to seek different ways to manage/react to those things. For those things that can be changed, I work with clients to educate them on their options and risks/rewards associated with those options. I pride myself on creative solutions to disputes and solutions that will address the needs of both sides on a long-term basis. Once the best options are identified, I zealously pursue those outcomes while maintaining my commitment to civility and reasonableness with fellow counsel, opposing party, and the Court. I am proud of my representation for doing so and I believe this helps get better results for my clients.
I measure my success by whether or not my clients feel that they, and their family, were well served by my representation years after the case is over. – Thomas Mulinazzi.
